Pierre Luc Dubois - What's the allure?

He gets traded for a lot. Has a monster contract. Is he really that good? I don't see it. He's 6'3", so I get that part. A few 60 point seasons. Certainly good, but nothing elite. Am I missing something?

Big body, can skate fast, and is capable of playing some excellent two way hockey at times. And when you see him at his best, you want a big center like that on your team.

Problem with him is consistency in his attitude which eventually wears out his welcome with teams

He is fine as a second line center but he will never be a top line center or much better than an average second line guy.

Basically a different version of Bo Horvat but with similar value.

Certainly not a bad player but far from someone who can be one of the best players on a team with realistic cup aspirations. and is really not worth the hype and baggage.

As a former top prospect theres always going to be attention around him. His "coming out party" in the 2020 playoff bubble brought a lot of eyes to him.

Honestly, I think PLD will hit 80 points in LA, he has the talent and now that hes firmly in a location of his choosing, I think his days of half passing things are over.

8 year contracts don't seem to be given out to anything other than franchise cornerstone pieces. And 8.5M is no small cap hit.

When he's on, he's Eric Lindros. When he's off, he's just a mid level 2C.
