Not sure why a guys value is seen as sky high when he’s Mr. butt hurt who has demanded multiple trades in this early career. Topped out career high in the 60’s? Not seeing a guy I would want to trade for. Head case city.

Well… you’d think that if he would be willing to sign long-term, he would actually want to be in a place like LA, unlike Columbus and Winnipeg.

Gotcha, so they need to fit Kopitar + Dubois for only this season , then its assumed Kopitar either leaves or re sign at a cheaper price?

It seems like it would be an oddly coldly calculated move by an NHL gm, who usually love to keep their franchise face for wayy too long and for too much, hockey-wise
PLD can also play wing

Has the Berenstain bear picked many trades for LA. I know hes one of the regular contributors of kings stuff but i dont tend to follow his 'work' as i find his style irritating

If PLD is traded to the Kings with an extension, the new Habs fan mantra will be “that’s fine, we’ll just sign him for free in 8 years”.

Bruh that's not a new Mantra, go read our board for f*cks sake.

We literally have a PLD thread where most of our fanbase only wants him if it's cheap and if he's to expensive would rather another team trade for him.

That thread has been open for months.

To LAK: Scheifele 50% retained on ‘24 & ext + Hellebuyck 50% retained on ‘24 & ext
To WPG: Vilardi + Byfield + Spence + Iafallo

To MTL: PLD ext. 8 yrs
To WPG: #31 + Beck + Barron + Hoffman
May I interest you in a Gallagher instead of a Hoffman?

Not a chance… lol
That’s a hefty price to pay for PLD. If he comes at a reasonable cap hit (8 - 8.3M per year) then I wouldn’t be mad at Hughes. Anything over 8.4 with that return and I wouldn’t be happy.

Barron is not an easy asset to let go. Neither is Beck although he’s easier to let go than Barron because of positional needs.

if Jets pull off those deals, imo they're as good a team now and they're set up for the future very quickly

Gonna be Hellebuyck I'd bet.

Maybe it's Dubois but I can't see him signing long term without testing free agency and I do think he wants the option of going to Montreal or least seeing what that would look like.

Montreal isn’t giving Dubois more than Suzuki and Caufield.

I agree, I think Hellebuyck is the target. Apparently he wants 9.5 I think I read so clearing cap lile they did would make sense.
