Speculation: Pierre-Luc Dubois Mega thread. (LAK frontrunner, but Montreal has circled back)

We want him.

We won't pay market value.

If we don't get him, so be it.
Yes I agree…Montreal never made a good trading partner with the Jets….

1)Not ready to compete yet

2)Not smart to give up young assets currently

3)PLD wanting more money to play there since they are rebuilding

Just not a good match this year as other teams will beat their offer pretty easily.

If his name was Peter L. Forest and he was from Minnesota nobody in MTL would give a fk about him.

The only reason we give a FK about him is that he expressed a desire to play in Montreal. We would like to try and use the very rare location advantage to acquire a good player at a very low cost.

If we can't do that, he's about as interesting this offseason to us as Lindholm or Toffoli.

Im out of the loop

How is PLD to LA making any sense? They have Kopitar, Danault, and Byfield getting better every year

Some mentioned Ullmark, rhat seems to make more sense. They have what, 9M cap space now according to capfriendly?

PLD is a Kopitar replacement As his $10m contract expires after this year

I can’t see the Kings trading Byfield ….. But if he was in the deal I would help PLD pack up his place for free :D

Rob Blake is deathly allergic to players under 25 years old

Have to purge the illness

Gotcha, so they need to fit Kopitar + Dubois for only this season , then its assumed Kopitar either leaves or re sign at a cheaper price?

It seems like it would be an oddly coldly calculated move by an NHL gm, who usually love to keep their franchise face for wayy too long and for too much, hockey-wise

Not sure why a guys value is seen as sky high when he’s Mr. butt hurt who has demanded multiple trades in this early career. Topped out career high in the 60’s? Not seeing a guy I would want to trade for. Head case city.

I wouldn't call him a head case, but there are certainly one or two red flags
