its short sample size and i figure all can go downhill quite fast with PLD, but so far im really excited with his presence.

His been quite snakebitten with points production and could easily be well above ppg. But as far as he keeps doing stuff at this level, the production will follow aswell.

We’ll wait to see how it turns out, but if he can maintain this level it will be cornerstone move for the Caps for their re-tool. All fingers and toes crossed!

Was also nice to see Kuemper have a nice start with the Kings. Lets hope he rebounds from the injury well and it turns out to be a win-win trade. That would be fun outcome given how much s*it both players got when the deal was done.

The guy had a good rookie year and after that 3x 60+ point seasons, and production-wise bounced back from a terrible first year with the Jets as well. It's not like he can't play. Combined with the noise around him and embarrassment of last year it would've been more surprising and concerning if he looked disinterested out of the gates with the Caps.

Yeah he was once again absolutely terrible, rocking a 78.98 xGF% 5-on-5 and 85.27 xGF% overall.

66.14 xGF% on the season, 14th in the entire league.

Hopefully he does well for them and PLD keeps doing well for us. I like the Kings and I like Kuemper, so hopefully everything can work out.

PLD isn’t showing up on the score sheet that much but he’s been in the middle of a lot of good stuff happening. I’m very happy with him so far, and the points are going to come.

I would never (foolishly) attempt to understand our management's thinking, but I think the trade was more about

1- Getting Pretty Lazy Dude the f*** off the team (70%)
2- Cap flexibility (15%)
3- A stop gap until Portillo and Slukynsky are ready (15%)

I dunno, he seems to recognize his weakness here, that he gets confused easily in grey areas. Seems like it just wasn’t a great fit. You have to wonder though, at what point is it on you as a player to break through that and perform? Probably at 8.5 mil.

Disagree recognizing his weakness would mean him going to the coach and saying he doesn't understand what's expected of him. Remember, he had 2 coaches in LA not just one. Most of us do better when expectations are laid out in a clear fashion. however as adults it's our job to seek out the clarification we need. Especially if it's public knowledge the coach was fired due to the team underperforming.

Also, a big part of his issue in LA was the perceived zero effort. for example, he had multiple games in the playoff series against Edmonton without registering a single shot on goal.

Is he saying he needed to be told to shoot the puck on goal in an attempt to score? Why does he think teams are paying him? because he looks pretty in uniform?

I did read where Washington's coach has had several long conversations with him already so it sounds like they are off to a good start.

I don't dislike the guy. I was confused on how he could make his self so invisible for so many games? Like after watch a game I would have to look at stats to see if he even played. I'd routinely see him at over 10 mins of ice time but no shots or penalties, maybe a hit or two. What I I hated was all the talent that was moved for him but that's not his fault. I do agree it does sound like the coaches did a horrible job for not just asking why he was underperforming?

As a Kings fan I just hope that trade become a lesson on what not to do because it set the organization back at least 5 years. Again not just PLD's fault.
