Either one is hard BUT the Bruins kind of look very tired. Lets face it Montreal should have won the series already but they let at least 2 games get away

Both are bad matchups for the Rangers. Pros and cons.

I don't know. The only thing about Montreal that worries me is their bottom-6, PP, and Price. Their blueline is solid, but not very good offensively as a whole, and can be exploited defensively. The forwards match up well for us, they are small and not THAT dangerous offensively. We just kept Crosby to 3 points in a 7 game series. Malkin had 7 points in 7 games, which is good, but not particularly incredible. He was amazing, but our defense did a good job containing him for the most part. And their depth scorers did jack ****.

It'll be a lot of 1-0, 2-1 games if we play Montreal, IMO, and I like our chances in those games.

I honestly don't care. We went to Hades..twice and pulled off the victory. I think the Rangers are a hybrid of the Bruins and Canadiens (We could stand toe-to-toe with the Bruins if it comes to physicality, we have players who are just as fast like the Canadiens).

My gut says Boston, but probably just because it's the less popular option.

Those two teams are going into a game seven, they're both very good. It depends on us more than it depends on them.

Just a rundown of stats from the main NHL team stats page.

ROW: Bos-51; NYR-41; Mon-40
GF/G: Bos-3.15; NYR-2.61; Mon-2.55
GA/G: Bos-2.08; NYR-2.32; Mon-2.45
5-5 F/A: Bos-1.53; NYR-1.07; Mon-0.99
PP%: Bos-21.7; NYR-18.2; Mon-17.2
PK%: NYR-85.3; Mon-85.1; Bos-83.6
S/G: NYR-33.2; Bos-31.9; Mon-28.4
SA/G: Bos-29.1; NYR-29.4; Mon-31.0
FO%: Bos-51.6; Mon-49.6; NYR-48.8

The only problem is the X Factor of the Bell Centre. Rangers have to win there to be able to win the series. Otherwise, I can't see how anyone wants Boston over Montreal. And that's not even getting into style issues.

boston

they look tired with all the games they played these last couple years, they way they play, kind of like chicago is
chara age doesnt help them either

its so tough to make it the finals 2 years in row, rarely see it

tough team but much rather them then to go to montreal where we suck and they probably the best crowd

Yea, I don't think this should be brushed aside.

Habs are faster, plus going toe to toe with the class of the East would be I think an important measuring stick. If we manage to win another round, the West team will NOT resemble Montreal.

Boston

Hank is good against them and we suck at Montreal.

Either way it will be a tough series

I think the Rangers started to make a dent against the Habs. I agree with others that I don't like the matchup against either of these teams, but I got a feeling that the Bruins would be the beach bully kicking sand in the Rangers face.

Give me Boston. I want the best team and if we win, well, we beat the best.
Plus, Hank seems to hate the Bell Center.

I live in Vancouver and they are a distant 2nd favourite team to the Rangers.

Back in 2011 when Canucks were heading to the finals and waiting for the winner of the TB-BOS series I said the exact same thing.

Beating the Bruins would feel sweeter....and....well...yeah.

Neither team is easy. Both are extremely difficult. Boston can be the more physical of the two.

Both goaltenders are going to be difficult.

The way I see it: Rangers are on borrowed time so whatever happens I'm happy.

They have already overachieved imo. The rest is gravy imo.

Winning a Stanley Cup is what would feel best, and against two very difficult foes, I care only about which one the Rangers have the better chance of going through, to heck with going up against the hardest challenge. I would gladly accept the better matchup between two very tough adversaries.

It's still really tough sledding, but Les Habitants is the best for the Rangers.
