Nobody here could have predicted this being abused. Apparently 1/3rd of the money is deferred. I believe that puts them close to 1 billion mark in deferred money now? Between Ohtani, this, Betts, Snell, and Freeman

Seems icky.

They're paying a supersub $14M a year from 30-34 years old?
He had one good season at 27, but otherwise is a slightly below average hitter with poor plate discipline.
Good utility player who can play 2B, 3B, RF, was a decent SS but probably has aged out at that spot.
Doesn't hit well enough to start at 3B or RF, and not sure his range will hold up at 2B.
Good depth in the age of short benches, but . . .
