You obviously don’t want to lose him & he probably would have bounced back to his normal self as the year went on but Acuna up to this point in the season was playing mediocre for his standards. The Braves were still playing like an elite team despite that.

So I do think they’ll still comfortably make the playoffs even without him. Acuna & Strider both gone though it’s probably gonna be hard for them to catch the Phillies though for the division title.

Starting in SF the way it ended in Denver

Walker might not be able to make it out of the first at this rate. Getting absolutely lit up with base hits right now

Walker was a guy who averaged around 93-94 on his fastball.

With the Phillies last year he was a little over 92.5, this year he's barely over 91 (91.2)

You can't have a righty who throws 91 or 92 mile meatballs. The league is hitting over .300 against him coming into today and the Giants have 8 hits in 22 AB's (.363 BA) on the day.

To make matters worse, they iced Turnbull and he's been mediocre out of the bullpen. Just an awful decision.

I think they're just not confident that Turnbull will be able to handle the load since he has so few innings pitched, and he's still likely to be better out of the bullpen than Walker.

Walker, he's here, just let him go until he gets hurt or gets really bad. You don't want to throw games away, but they do have a cushion until they can make a trade. Walker will still eat innings, and that is still necessary.

Officially in our first slump. Downhill since Bryce was tossed in the 1st in Colorado.

To be fair, Bohm had no urgency on the first batter and didn't get the out, and then completely botched the grounder that could have made up for it by turning 2

Instead, things continue and they made us pay. Very similar to what we did to Texas last week

When did this fallacy about bad pitchers eating innings making them valuable become a thing? If you suck in your innings, youre not valuable.
