I remember the year Kris Bryant hit like double digit home runs leading spring training & still got held back for the sake of financial reasons. I get it’s smart but some of this shit is insane.

If you’re a Pirates fan Skenes might one of the few if only reasons you’d potentially go out to a game this year.

A full year of service time is 172 days on a roster out of 187. He can also finish high enough in the ROY balloting (top 2 in each league) to get credit for a full year with less or take the Super 2 route.

So... 16 days?

Well would you look at that... the Pirates are in Philadelphia for a four game series that starts on the 15th day of the season.

Doubt they'll do that that obviously but still intriguing.

Seriously tho. He barely had any time in the minors last year and probably is only going to be allowed to throw like 120 innings this year so might as well go slow.

Yeah it’s more defensible for pitchers since they will never get a full workload through September.
