Yup. It seems the players feed off themselves and the fans which is great when things are going good. If they get down a run or two, can’t let energy get sucked out of the building. Batters can’t get nervous and try to do too much. It’s a little of a catch 22: I want them to be aggressive but not impatient. A Buddhist middle path approach is needed. Be aggressive on pitches you can hit. Get in batter counts. Work walks, look for your pitch, foul off what you need to. Basically I want professional plate appearances throughout, no popping up to 2nd on the first pitch with one out and runners on base. This game is on the hitters. One run isn’t going to be enoughLike Herb Brooks said, "Great moments are born from great opportunity."
What this team has before them tonight is a great opportunity to create one of the greatest moments of their careers. Its up to them now.
As for the fans in attendance? They better not just show up, they better show out too. Be relentless no matter what happens early. Show the team we are going to be in it with them until the 27th out. None of that nervous energy bullshit.
Comments are predictable but still amusing
