The City of Phoenix have won 1 Championship in the 4 sports. Granted the Coyotes and DBacks havent been around as long but it is always worse. They havent won anything since 2001. Bunch of cities are like that, look at Cleveland too. Bad bad loss though. Still think the Phillies win this series due to homefield.

What I’m interested in is if it’s a close game when Wheeler is done, do they push all the chips in and go for the win using Ranger? If they don’t get the win, and Nola wins, it’s a bullpen game 7. Basically if you use Ranger in relief tomorrow, I think you are gunning to win in 6 games because that 7th looks iffy if lose one of them
ETA: at least this game should spell the end of Kimbrel unless it’s an absolutely must situation. And Kierkling needs to start an inning, not get inherited base runners. He’s a kid and baptism by fire doesn’t work for all. He could be a major piece of the bullpen as soon as next year and it would be bad to psychologically break him.

None of these relievers except Hoffman it seems can throw strikes consistently. Please no more Kimbrel the rest of the way. The fact he pitched after throwing so many pitches last night is indefensible. That is on Rob. Only pitcher on the roster id wouldnt want pitching over him is Taijuan.

Who knows how many more games they will have, but the fact that it took the manager this long while anyone who has watched him this year is troubling. He's so proactive with pulling his starters yet to continue running this guy out there. He was a ticking timebomb. This is what you get. All fo this coming off his 24 pitch 1 out appearance the night before.

Wheeler needs to channel his inner Doc tonight and go nine.
Walker shouldnt be on the roster, I dont have a problem with him not pitching. Lorenzen should have least pitched an inning. Guessing he could pitch today. Also think Strahm and Seranthony will be available, maybe Jose too. Ranger apparently will be out there. The DBacks are thin as well though. Wheeler hasnt been extended much these playoffs, cant be pulled early unless things are really dire.

I'm not mad at Kimbrel. He's always sucked in non save situations, even on teams he's been on that won the WS with him closing. It's not his fault that Topper keeps putting him in situations he's destined to struggle with.
