Starting to think Thomson is a fraud

The dropped catch early that he didnt even come out to discuss...let alone challenge

How do you not pinch-run Marsh for Kyle in the 8th? Had he done that, the catch in left field that Kyle missed to lose the game is made.

Why is he bringing in Kimbrel in a tied game the day after his first blown save?

Why is Harrison not pinch-hit for in the 9th?

Pathetic stuff.

Like I get it, it doesn’t matter as much when your top guys just aren’t getting it done right now. But why the hell does Thompson just mass sub games as much as he does? I get guys can’t play everyday but he doesn’t even try to stagger them & frankly their bench has been awful all year long. Pache out, Stubbs might be their only break even guy on there. The rest are flat out horrible. Harrison, Sosa, Hall, Cave, etc.

Is Rojas our best bench player right now? I was watching him in Reading two months ago

What did you think Thomson was? No one gave him a manager position until he fell into the job. then he had a team with a bunch of talent motivated by the change last year. this year they don't have that luxury and he actually has to manage and we are probably now seeing why he was never considered. He's too weak. Turner should have been given some time off by now and schwarber should as well. This teams stars are becoming mediocre just like the manager and it's a big problem.

Looking to buy a jersey, going to the game tonight. What's the difference in price/quality vs one i could buy online?

Honest answer here... the price may be a little bit higher at the stadium than online but the quality will be the same as you find online which will be dogshit when it comes to replicas. Thanks, Fanatics. They get a few shipments of authentics in a year but they're also priced at nearly $500 so that's a no-go also.

I'm not trying to sound like a jersey snob here but you'll see what they are when you get one in your hand. Ironed on, single ply, fake stitching. It's terrible.

Again, if i'm being honest here, i'd recommend just buying some random player/coach's jersey at the Authentics stand which is next to the main store. That's where they sell game worn/issued jerseys and what not. At least you'll get a real one there that will last. They range from like $149 and up. They'll have a stack of papers on the desk there with all of the jerseys (and other things) that they have available so don't think that the only ones that are available are the ones on display.

Dombrowski HAS to make a few moves for the bench, right?

Bellinger makes too much sense at this point. Then add another bench bat and hope Pache keeps hitting when he comes back. They aren't getting anything meaningful out of Harrison, Hall, and Cave this season. No chance.

5 players in the starting lineup making $20m or more a year and having won a silver slugger award within the past 2 seasons.

But need a trade to put more offense' in the lineup.

It's been a perfect storm. Trea being dogshit his first year. Kyle being forced to play the field due to Harper's injury and suffering at the plate as a result, and of course, Harper having no power due to the surgery. This season hasn't been fun.

No doubt Soto, one of the best hitters in a generation, forgets how to hit if he comes here.
I'm shocked it didn't happen to Harper when he signed here. Even nowadays with his elbow related power outage, he's still hitting .290-.300. and still enjoying a well above average WRC+ WOBA+ etc

Will Trae be fine in the long run? I'm sure he will. Even by next season probably. But with the Braves having Strider, Acuna, Riley, etc etc all signed for $50 per year each for the next 30 years, the window of this team is far from wide open. Especially when you consider what the pitching is going to look like once after the Nola/Wheeler era ends.

Castallenos 2.0. It's super great he's hitting again this year, but we could have used him last year. Bum.

Thanks,

I'm looking for a 2xl Harper Jersey, so not sure the game worn are an option for me but good to know!

While i'd prefer a right-handed bat....Bellinger is still probably who we should target. He play LF and 1B. Makes too much sense.

Thomson is a lot like Charlie was. Hes very laid back and his biggest strength is he knows to stay out of his players way n let their talent shine. This style has shown successful with this group...especially becsuae they all hated playing for Girardi so much.

The downside of this is obviously that Thomson is not savy and isnt going with you games by the moves of adjustments he makes...much like charlie. So when the talent isnt showing up...his weaknesses as a manager are exposed.

So yes he deserves blame for some of these awful moves and non moves...but ultimately the way the teams built the top guys have to perform. Thomson isnt holding them back like girardi was tho, hes just not able to cover for them when they dont show up.
