On one hand they’re fortunate as it allowed them to keep pace. But the Phillies have also missed out on opportunities to get ahead. As the entire the bottom of the wild card standings is struggling right now sans Cincinnati. Miami has lost 8 straight, San Francisco has lost 4 straight, & Arizona has lost 3 straight.

The offensive drop-off for Realmuto this year is obvious, but there's been a significant defensive drop-off as well

3rd most passed balls (7)
Last season: 2 passed balls

He's 56 out of 59 catchers in runs saved by framing pitchers.
-6 runs (meaning he's cost the Phillies 6 runs compared to an avg catcher)

Last season he was 37/60 with a -1 for the entire season.
In 2021 he was 11/59 with a +4

Trea shouldn't be hitting 2nd. Thomson won't change though. Keep giving him plate appearances than Stott and Marsh.
