Just can't be saying the quiet part loudWhat do you think he would say? Halladay was too injured to pitch at a high level by his mid 30s and he got addicted to painkillers. I would hope he'd be more about self preservation if given a do-over.
I think it's a good thing for pitchers to understand their limits. Toughing out another inning when there's nothing left is needlessly risky to both the pitcher's health and the team's chances of winning. Maybe Kirby should have more tact in voicing his frustration, but I wouldn't say he's wrong.
