But what about Liam?!

Trade Liams Dad for pitching. Move Harper back to RF. Re-sign Hoskins to a short term deal if he'll accept. Marsh to LF. Kyle to DH. Rojas & Pache platoon CF. Profit.

Trust me I'm not close to being a Topper fan, but there's enough vets on this team to not be having a September collapse once again.

He's been here for all of them. Along with Nola. Not counting Rhys cause he hasnt played a game this season.

The 4-9 hitters went 1/21 last night and the lead off hitter followed that up with 1/5. That’s why they lost.

The team just can’t seem to hit semi decent pitching.
They smoked Wacha a few nights ago didn't they? He's been on a tear since June or so.

It's what this team has battled its whole existence: when they hit, they can't pitch. When they pitch, they can't hit. Last October, they did both. It happens for a few weeks 2 or 3 times a season

Imagine Roy Halladay’s thoughts on hearing this.

What do you think he would say? Halladay was too injured to pitch at a high level by his mid 30s and he got addicted to painkillers. I would hope he'd be more about self preservation if given a do-over.

I think it's a good thing for pitchers to understand their limits. Toughing out another inning when there's nothing left is needlessly risky to both the pitcher's health and the team's chances of winning. Maybe Kirby should have more tact in voicing his frustration, but I wouldn't say he's wrong.
