This is way late, but thank you for posting this kind of stuff. Always appreciate the knowledge and insight you bring to the board. Parts of that article go way over my head, but still...football strategy is sports porn for me:laugh: Thanks again.

Thank you for the kind words. I have to reference books I have laying around trying to figure out what some of these things mean too, believe me.

I just love how football is somehow both unchanging and completely different at the same time. We've got something like the Mills development where the big change is where the QB looks to go with the ball, a coach won a Super Bowl playing a literal Pop Warner defensive base for one game, and high-end NFL and CFB coaches ripping run plays off from Pre-WWII service academies.

Hell, the biggest change this century in how football is played at the NFL level was directly ushered in by Chip Kelly and most people think he was a failure.

Welcome. RE 2nd paragraph it's a game where you have to reinvent the wheel every year, and everybody already knows what the wheel is. The game is the same as it always is. Rule changes have obviously changed some aspects. The way the game is played is so different now, though.

So you need to figure out how to achieve the same goals in different ways every year. That's "putting in the work" for me. Staring at those diagrams until you have the light bulb moment. Sometimes seeing football play diagrams reminds me of a chess position diagram, where it looks like a mess at first, then you get it and it's just beautiful the way all those working parts are in harmony.

We'll save Chip for another day. Cheers dude

Go M Sanders and B Scott. I am facing Hurts I. 1st and 3rd leagues today. Top league team also has DSmith and A Brown. I have a decent lead, and 3 players at 4pm in the top league at least.
