If Gannon leaves maybe that is addition by subtraction despite the players lost. I think I heard Lane wants to play another 3 years or so. I dont see Kelce retiring. The Eagles offense is going to be very good and look at the conference. Huge missed opportunity of course but just get in the playoffs each year.
I felt better when we were getting Vic Fangio...I don't think Gannon does a <great> job. But we can get worse should he depart. Let's hope we get better.

Seeing more clips/analysis from Sunday, maybe it was the field, but our defensive line got trucked most of the day by the Cheifs OL. Not sure what Gannon could have realistically done to change that, but I'd rather go down trying to dictate the game.

Absolutely love him. Unfortunately, they already paid Maddox. You can't play two of those guys too much unless you want Phillips to move to a hybrid Safety role.

I don't think you can get out of Maddox until 2025? That's just from memory.

Just in time to toss the cyanide in my yogurt. Appreciate the timing.

*Edit* Oh my god, if they hire Kliff, I may combust.
He is pretty hot, isn’t he?

Listen. Mike Bobo is on the staff already. That's worse than Kliff. There are so many ways this can go hilariously upside-down that I can't even remember them all right now.

A Kirby-Muschamp-Bobo Triumvirate at the top of a program at the pivotal time in which we find out if they can legitimately dethrone Bama might actually kill me.

The real tragedy here is now I can't get a new SB champ sweatshirt. A few weeks ago I accidentally bleach stained my 2018 one with a splatter leaving a dime sized blot and a pencil eraser sized one right near it after I was cleaning up when we made wings. The spot is near my belly button. Sad.

I mean, you CAN get one. They are on a boat to Africa ATM.

Yeah, this absolutely isn’t a fun exercise but I see a lot of people saying that this is the toughest lost in Eagles/Philadelphia sports history. That seems heavily influenced by age and recency bias at first glance and then I started thinking about it more and, well, i'm going to have to think about it more.

Where do you put it in both of those categories?

After 2005 (Eagles) and 2010 (Philly), at least. Probably 2009 as well, because **** the Yankees.

Probably Flyers 2004 as well.

Not even f***ing close. The loss to the Patriots felt like death. As is the game against the Cardinals and the loss to the Saints (2nd time). This is for me personally. That's just the Eagles. The Phillies in 2011 was way worse. Out of Eagles losses this is probably like 5 or below for me.

For the old timers I'm guessing 1964 is by far the worst. Add in the 77 and 81 76ers. 1993 Phillies. I'm sure there are others but how anyone who is old enough to remember Super Bowl 39 who thinks this is worse needs their head examined.

2004 Flyers, Game 7 was one of the toughest for me. Such a frustrating game.

1997 Flyers, that whole finals series was devastating. Really thought it was our time and we were heavy favorites going in.

the more i think about it, I can see the 2023 Super Bowl being up there. We just ran out of time. Would have loved to see what Jalen could have done with 90secs. Legends are made in those types of situations.

Not even close. They lost to a team that was at the very least just as good as they were.

January 19th, 2003. NFC Championship game, last game at the Vet, against a team they had already beaten and should have beaten. I have been at a candlelight vigil with more talking going on than that walk to the parking lot. That walk was one of the weirdest experiences of my entire life.

*Edit* I was off by two days. Thanks for the correction.

As someone who doesn't follow College Football AT ALL, I'm glad you mentioned 'Bama' at the end, because I had ZERO idea what this post was even about.

Think you mean the 19th - I know this for a fact because it was on elementary school me's birthday and I was devastated

Yeah, I don't see this anywhere close to the worst.

Super Bowl 39 was unbearable. The NFC Championship Games the 2 years prior were arguably also worse than this year. 2010 Flyers, 2011 Phillies, one could even argue the Kawhi buzzer beater.

(I can't comment on anything pre-2004, wasn't following Philly sports then. The '02 and '03 NFC Championship Games do sound like absolute funerals/gut punches though when reading about them.)

Off the top of my head, other clearly tougher losses:

1993 World Series Game 4 (They gave up 6 Runs in the 8th to lose 15-14 and go down 3-1. That's not the Joe Carter HR.)
The Joe Carter HR
The Kawhi Shot
Flyers-Oilers Game 7 in '87
Flyers 2010 Game 6
Phillies 2011 Game 5 vs the Cardinals

None of those required any thought. You're talking about unbelievable mistakes and entire eras ending. This was a normal loss to an excellent team.

The question is how much talent equity you're willing to give up to make that the case. If you get to 10 and you have a WR and a CB at the top of your board both rated similarly, most people will agree with that approach. What if you get to 10 with a WR you have rated as a top 5ish pick still available and your first defensive players all have mid-1st grades?

I would argue that going against your board is the worst mistake you can make because it should be the easiest to avoid. You already put in months of work to make that decision and now you're lighting it on fire.
You would draft WR in the first?
