They are almost walking around in a set of plate mail armor.

In related news, war is also less violent these days. I mean, people used to run around trying to chop each other's heads off! And don't even get me started on maces and morning stars.

if you want to see old timey violence in the nfl, just watch Chuck Bednariks hit that knocked out Frank Gifford. The equipment was improved especially helmets, because guys were getting knocked out almost every game and the spinal cord injuries. Then the players started using the helmet as a weapon due to lack of injury concerns. Vicious circle here.

The NFL deciding to have the Eagles play the 8th seed and get rid off the bye week due to that incident (assuming they clinch #1 this week), would be very much in line with what has happened to the Eagles over the last few weeks and one of the bigger screwjobs we have seen.. They probably would get eliminated as well due to Hurts still not being able to play at 100%...

Yeah I really don't get arbitrarily changing a bunch of other stuff unless you are doing so to fit a makeup game in. If not then points percentage it is and tough ta-tas to whoever is impacted. Should have won more games when you had the chance if you wanted a better seed, and whatevs you are in the PO anyway so dummy up! Oh no Buffalo could have - maybe - got the first seed but didn't?! Welcome to the NFL guys. Oh wait, you guys are familiar with disappointment already? Well then add this to the list and suck it up. Too bad for the already hopeless and despondent land known as Buffalo if you cant win games to advance. Same to you Cincy. Don't try to eff our sh!t up with your pity play. No one cares/life is pain.

KC fan?

Anybody have thoughts on the possible location of the potential "neutral site" AFC Championship game?

The only possibilities of this are KC vs Buffalo or KC vs Cincinnati.

Since all three of those teams play outside, I would lean towards choosing an outdoor stadium. With either game, I'd select Chicago. They aren't going to be using it and it is the best geographically neutral outdoor stadium.

If they want an indoor stadium to limit all potential weather factors, I could see them using Indy for a KC vs Buffalo game, but Indy is really close to Cincinnati if they're involved. In that case, I'd assume wherever the Rams used to play at in St. Louis isn't capable of hosting, so the next closest place with an NFL "worthy" stadium would be Minnesota, but that seems far for both teams. We know Indy and St. Louis won't be holding games and I think we can all agree that Minnesota probably won't be using their stadium that week either.

I didn't include any college stadiums in my thinking, but there are probably a few that could host an NFL game. I just don't know of any in that general area of the country that could do it.
