I don't think Howie is a f*** up. The offseason just wasn't as good as we thought it would be. Bradberry fell off a cliff. Positions left without depth now make you shake your head at how (Safety, LB) it could happen.

I'm a Howie stan - and I think he's earned the faith for the offseason...but next year if it's ugly...we'll talk.

Mahomes speed is a weapon in his arsenal. If he is hobbled and its not there its like missing a WR and having to focus on other guys.

For Hurts, his speed is his IDENTITY. Its what determines what he does on a play by play basis. It determines where he looks, how many lookoffs he will do.

He has been getting slower every week. He can't adjust, he can't change how he plays. He has always had bad pocket awareness, but his elite QB speed helped to counter it. Its not there and he is below average as a result.

This is what happens when you bank on a an relying on speed.

They can't be afraid to draft a QB this spring. The early Hurts extension was too risky. He's not some generational type. If he repeated his success from last year I would have happily paid a premium for an extra season of data. The sample sizes in the NFL are just so small. Now they're in deep trouble if he can't approach last season.
