In general, teams should take the Delay and save the TO more often than they do. Especially in a close game. It’s ok.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that 'back to the LoS' rule only comes into play if it's a clear throwaway, right? I think Smitty was kind of in the area, he was coming back towards the pass. When the passer gets hit while throwing the refs usually give him a little more leeway as far as 'in the area' is concerned I think.
