There isn’t one. He’s having surgeries you have when you’re 70. And they can’t put a team together that can be good without him.

If there's a torn meniscus they remove the loose piece, same thing he's had before. Obviously there's only so much you can remove but if it's not too much he could still play. Novak Djokovic had meniscus surgery and he's still a top 5 player in the world. And he's 37 years old. He wasn't even wearing a brace or a compression sleeve at this year's Australian Open. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure Embiid's knee is in worse shape than Novak's.

I think the "out for season" update is coming for Embiid soon.

It's been 3 months since it was obvious he should be shut down. When will the team know?

Djokovic repaired his meniscus, as in they sewed it back together. This is a much longer recovery period, but offers a better long term outlook. This is what McCain got done

Embiid got what you described done. They shaved off the torn part of the meniscus. This risks partial recovery because you have removed some meniscus, but sacrifices less rehab time.

We knew exactly this was a risk from the very moment we found out what surgery was performed last season
