I'm having a hard time understanding how Nick Nurse, who is supposed to be a pretty good coach, has failed to have this team playing any semblance of professional basketball without Embiid when everyone knew he wouldn't be available. Despite some obvious shortcomings (size being an obvious one) this team is scratch-your-head bad. It's like everyone forgot how to play basketball.
Must have rubbed shoulders with Torts..

But yeah, he's been a huge disappointment like his team.

Team is built to coalesce around 3 offensive stars.

Not go out and dominate without them. It is what it is.
They don't need to dominate though..just look more competent and organized. Right now Nurse is coaching like Doc Rivers....disjointed and poor decisions.

Still early and injuries are very real....

Let's hope by March they are healthy and looking like they can get beyond the 1st or 2nd round...

It’s just really hard to score when you’ve been missing 2/3 of your stars, and everyone else on the team is essentially here to space the floor and play defense.

Most of us expect things to be way smoother sailing when we’re healthy, but I believe we’re just going to have shit sandwiches for a bit longer than we wanted to(As usual)

True...I just hope we don't try to patch things up by trading our picks ...even for Kuminga bc I think this team is suspect even if Embiid's knee can get more mileage and PG can also stay healthy long term. Maxey being injured in any long term or nagging way will definitely necessitate holding those potential 2028 (1st rd unprotected) and 2029 (right to swap if Clippers fall out of top 3) lottery picks.

Harris might as well sell the team now and take his massive gains bc that arena won't cut it as a stand alone "draw" even if they have a strip club in there...

He lost them that first game at tip-off starting KJ and Gordon for no reason other than vibes.

Odds the three ever even play together?

It's always been my pushback to "build around Maxey." The difference between a Maxey-tier star and Embiid is impossible to bridge. Unless Embiid is on the floor (with the others), I agree, it's irrelevant in judging them at peak capacity. PG has looked solid. Realistically, their 4th best player also isn't on the team yet. However, Maxey being hurt could actually put them in a hole out of which they can't dig out. I'll be the first to defend this team building strategy......but this is the risk you run.

I think that's been the biggest issue: they can't. They're currently too small to play defense and can't space the floor. Their two best depth wings (Oubre and Martin) are bricklayers, and Martin especially has YMCA-level shooting form right now. Their backup guards (Gordon and Lowry) are old farts who can basically only shoot; McCain isn't ready for primetime and isn't fixing their size+athleticism. KJ is a rim runner. I'm not a fan of Drummond, but the fit is awful. We're down to Yabusele and finding minutes for RCIV. Shooting still TBD.
