Tied for 10th and very much not playing with the same talent as the Avs, leafs, knight, Jets, or Devils players ahead and tied with him.

Not sure what he would have signed for on another team as a UFA, but he would have likely been a great signing there too. Would have likely been a great trade and sign as well which is what I wanted the Flyers to do. Happy for the guy

The boy is crushing it, and the addition of Michkov, even while he's playing on another line at even strength, has upgraded the OT and power play to a noticeable degree, with TK being one of those who has capitalized and benefited the most.

It makes the understandable concerns about the commitment to a Top50 type contract for a team in rebuild kinda fade away. And given it is a pre-cap 2025 increase contract, and not in place until next season, and still in the #40-50 range, if even that, by the time it is in force...well, it seems like an awfully good decision.

P.S. After the conclusion of this season and next, Flyers will have 10.7 million in dead cap money ready to spend, if they manage to keep away from any more salary retentions in the meantime (looking at you, Rasmus Ristolainen!). Plus whatever the cap increase gets them. That is the next big crucial decision for management...and TK being there, at a slightly-below league avaerage salary for his quality is in no way a problem.

P.P.S. Big money UFA centres that Flyers could target at the conclusion of 2025-26 season with that kind of money include: Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, Martin Necas, Adrian Kempe...

That’s why he said plus whatever the cap goes up which it should a good bit. I think this is the Flyers plan actually.
