NHL.com box score (http://www.nhl.com/ice/boxscore.htm?id=2012020474) shows that Slava took one faceoff. Anyone verify this happened?
So many bad calls in this game. For both sides. The two that stand out to me are the dumb 5-minute major given to Richards on a shot follow-through and the non-call on Kane's high-stick to Doughty's face.
Glad LA won so those became an afterthought.
I think the Richards' penalty was a double minor, but regardless it should not have been called in the first place. Can you imagine if they scored one or two off of those powerplays? Also, Kane got away with two blatant high sticks on Doughty and was it Brown earlier in the game? These are game changing mistakes being called/missed. I imagine 9 times out of 10 we win by a larger margin with 4 more minutes 5 on 5 and two extra powerplays.
That's some great revisionist history there.
The game was tied for 28 minutes. The Blackhawks led for 23 minutes. How exactly is that 80% of the game. The Kings far outchanced and outshot the Blackhawks. In no way, shape, or form does that constitute a terrible game.
They limited a team that averages 31 shots a game to 25. They racked up 36 shots against a team that averages 27 against. I would bet lots of money they controlled the scoring chances, too. I will post them as soon as Robert from Jewels from the Crown posts his report.
I feel sorry for you. That was one of the most exciting, fun to watch games of the year.
That was one of the best games of the season and we have fans like this who just can't enjoy it for what it is.

We got lucky to win this game. Brown got a lucky opportunity to get the puck from Kopi's skates. We didn't win because we controlled the play.

Nice to see the team bail out quick...he will return the favor in the playoffs.
Considering Chicago has played 31 games and lost 3 games in regulation all season prior to this one, a 5-4 win was probably one of the only ways to win vs. them and it was a pretty incredible feat - in their barn no less.
I'm not going to get on any of the D after a game like this where winning was extremely difficult. At some point you have to credit Chicago. They are a fabulous team that rarely gets beat. Good on the Kings for taking it to them.
Remember the saying in the 90's "you can't teach size" I believe you can't teach pure goal scoring. As for TT he is what a few of us have been saying about him forever, he has a rare ability to be where he needs to be in order to score and the hands/instincts to capitalize on his chances when he gets the puck.
The great thing about TT is that he has and will always work harder than most O talents to try and elevate his overall game to be the best it can possibly be. What gets overlooked about TT is that the same instincts that make him a very good O player are there in the rest of his game, it just takes him time to adjust to every level he has played in and then it comes out.
The GDT was a disaster to read. Some really need to cool off.
It was horrible. I understand we all want to win but that was madness. Every ****ing mistake was mentioned and when the Kings scored, everyone was great again. At least show some consistancy.I stayed away on purpose because I figured there would be a lot of negativity and over-reaction.

TT has the touch
