Good for Hideki. He was masterful, but I find him hard to really root for.

The interpreter thing rubs me the wrong way. I get English isn’t his first language and it’s harder for Japanese people to learn it than most people to learn it because the alphabets are different (and probably some other reasons), but Hideki does speak English. This isn’t a “he’s only been in the US for 6 months and doesn’t understand or speak the language” thing. He’s been playing on the PGA Tour for over 10 years. He simply doesn’t want to give media availability in his second language. He’s like the only top 100 player in the world who does this. I hate it when Panarin does this for the Rangers, for what it’s worth. I think it’s a lack of accountability as a star athlete to the media. Hard for Hideki to really breakthrough on the PGA Tour as a star when he can’t even do some basic press availability that every other good ESL player does.

Taylor is captain clutch. That chip-in eagle at 18 to tie the lead was one of the most-ridiculous golf feats I've ever seen. Just about as good as his eagle at the Canadian open which he won. I'm still in shock about today. Goose-bump, butterflies and everything else.

Scottie will be back for Pebble Beach after injuring his hand in his kitchen at Christmastime.

Brian Campbell gotta be one of the more obscure PGA Tour winners in recent history. Turned pro a decade ago, I don't think he ever contended in a pga tour event previously.

Just 1 Top-10 in his career in 30 starts, his win at Vidanta.

Swing speed of an old geezer (108 mph with driver, slower than me) and dead last on the Tour in driving distance.

Was hoping Jake Knapp would get his 2nd win @ PGA National. One of the most visually appealing players to watch on TV with his swing and the shots he plays. Just always seems to have one really bad shot/implosion per tournament like he did on 11 that threw it away.

Still a very solid player I will always root for and makes the PGA Tour worth watching to me when he's in the field and contending.
