Enjoying Oilers goals in the first 40mins and fighting off grey hair growth in the 3rd, that's how I know I'm watching Edmonton. :snide:
Solid debut for Walman, sweet stretch pass to Hyman and nice open ice hit!
Watching McDavid being McDavid after a loooong stretch of nothingness (by his standards) was a nice weekend cherry on top.

Walman was objectively great last night and our best D-man. Obviously that pass to Hyman and absolutely plowing through Rantonen were the highlights, but he just seemed dominant throughout. There were a few plays where he looked like the smartest guy on the ice.

So relieved to see McDavid regaining his old form after a slump that was both depressing and terrifying. He had two even-strength points in a game for the first time since...I can't even remember. Six total points in his last three.

That rapid three-goal comeback was a terrifying glimpse into what Dallas is capable of, especially with Rantonen...

And Leon missing another empty net is proof that we live in a simulation designed by a total asshole.

Being in Ontario I only caught the first half of the game too. Walman looked like a #1 dman out there. It honestly reminded me of Ekholm's first game here when it was a shock for us to see what a real dman could look like. If Ek is back to form when he returns, look out!

Coming to Edmonton for a few home games the week after this. Hoping this team keeps building back in the right direction.

Were the Ceci boosters also the ones who wanted to get rid of Kulak instead?
I feel like if someone is playing top minutes, at the top of the leaderboard or one of the best players in the league there’s always here wanting to get rid of someone. Some people can’t stomach not having a “best in slot”player

Emberson has been bad for awhile now

Yeah I think he had a decent start but hes been dropping for awhile. The whole team has really. But being a young player, you would think he would get better as season goes. Judging by ice time, I think the coaching staff will push Klingberg once he’s healthy

Walman almost broke the chart...

Last night was an 11 pm with a loss of one hour coming due to time change. So I didn’t see a second of the game. Thrilled to see a plus 3 and 24 minutes for Walman and impressed by five hits by Jones. The kid is going to take a couple days off from his masters studies this week so I’m going to fly up to Toronto and meet up with him and go catch the Devils, Islanders and Rangers next week. Sure hope the uptick continues.

Gregor is such a f***ing hack.
Say what you will, and I do understand how his “self confidence” could annoy people, but Gregor literally resurrected Edmonton sports radio with 1440 and brought my beloved Lowetide back to the airwaves. When Team 1260 shut down suddenly, it felt like a loved one died. I personally feel like I owe Jason Gregor both respect and gratitude for that. And it’s not like he’s a bad guy. If you’ve never read one of his “letter to my dad” articles, you need to. If you know, you know.

Proceeds to give up 3 goals on the next 4 shots.
The D needs to clear the zone, and the 4th bounced off Embers which Stu had no chance on. I dunno man. He also made some great saves. I don't blame him for the PP goals.

Embers had a rough game, and couldn't stop the man for one goal and had a 2nd go off of him.

I shouldn't be pissed about this game, but here we are.

On the bright side, a win is a win. It was good to see McDavid and Hyman back to form. That gives me some reassurance that McDavid isn't suffering from some mysterious illness or injury and is about to return to form for the homestretch and the playoffs. Hyman also looking like himself again. Walman looks good so far and seems to complement Nurse.

However...

How the f*** do you nearly blow a 4-goal lead? Knoblauch wasn't wrong when he called this team "fragile." They need to somehow get out of their own heads. Otherwise, it will cost them in the playoffs.

And I know this is a picky thing but...

How the f*** is the leading Rocket Richard candidate so inept at freebie goals? That's literally THREE times this year he hit the post on the empty net. Conversely, MacKinnon, Kucherov, and Ovechkin live on empty nets. We can throw shade at MacKinnon but at least he's smart enough to take advantage of the situation while Draisaitl seems completely oblivious to the fact that his inability to score empty nets will cost him the Ross. Hell, it isn't even out of question that he loses the Rocket at this point. Maybe he needs to spend the summer with MacKinnon learning how to score on the empty net.

He robbed Rantanen and then gave up 3 goals on the next 4 shots. Makes one big save in a period and you guys just go "jobs done what more do you want?"

But hey you wont get any disagreement on Emberson from me. I don't get what people see in the player.
So you refuse to take consideration on how the goals were scored, and whether or not he had a chance to stop them? Par for the course I guess Spawn.
