Feel like Miller in Buffalo could more than likely create more friction/problems in Buffalo, not something they need.

Though I guess they do need someone to call them out and hold them accountable

And, if Dahlin was on the table, he’d return a lot more than Miller

Definitely agree that Dahlin is worth more than Miller. To me, it looks like that Buffalo's issue might be goaltending and if they would be open to Miller. With Demko healthy again, wonder if Lankinen would like to start more games and Buffalo look for an upgrade on Reimer.

Miller, Hoglander, Brannstrom and Lankinen

for

Cozens, Byram and Reimer

I mean, you could trade Miller and keep EP but will that solve whatever "this" is? How much respect does EP have in the locker room? He's not exactly the kind of guy you rally around.

Dahlin is definitely not available.

I don't really understand why we are discussing Miller to Buffalo, he doesn't seem to be a good fit for such a team, plus he has a full NMC and Buffalo is the last team for which players give up their NTC/NMC.

I wouldn’t trade Edvinsson straight up for pettersson let alone include more

Kid is still so slept on because the rest of the team is ass. He should be the most untouchable asset in Detroit , including Raymond and Seider

My guess is still more than Miller. Feels like the type of guy who eventually gets tuned out by his teammates. We've seen him snap on teammates on the ice and on the bench, who knows how he's acting in the room when things aren't going well. Eventually it stops being motivating and you're just left with a co-worker who's an asshole.

Yes, seems very similar to the Wheeler/Laine situation. Wheeler was clearly overbearing, but Laine was weak-minded and diva like. I just don't see pro athletes respecting that.

If you want to be a good regular season team, keep EP. If you actually want to win playoff games, you keep Miller. EP, like the Sedins, is too soft for playoff hockey. You can't win the ultimate prize with players like that.
Rah rah rah euros are soft rah rah. Original stuff.

Maybe the abrasive prick is the problem sometimes? Neither you nor me know for sure.

A lot of you guys are crazy thinking we'd move Pettersson over Miller - when this regime first got here, they tried shopping Miller quietly before his NMC kicked in, and Pettersson's extension was their first major move regarding what I'd call our franchise pillars. If this 'me or him' situation does play out, JT Miller will be wearing a different jersey by the TDL

Well they signed Miller to that extension and then traded the captain, so I would argue those were their first major moves regarding franchise pillars.

Fair enough, can't help but think though that Pettersson had the keys to the franchise - it was down to him or Hughes for captaincy of the team, obviously they got him to commit to the extension last year. Everything still points to Miller being dealt if push comes to shove imo

One thing I know about building a competitive NHL team is if you had superstars in the past but didn't win a cup with them, you have to immediately cut off any future players from the same nation.
I know, right? Honestly, it's a wonder anyone bothers with Canadians at all anymore.
