I think Pettersson is capable of making this interesting but he certainly hasn’t for quite a while now

Ya, skill wise there may be a legitimate debate, but Rantanen has proven to be more reliable.

Rantanen easily.

Even when he’s playing “poorly,” he’s still producing.

Sure, you could argue that MacKinnon helps boost his numbers, and it’s probably true to a certain extent, but he’s also shown that he can perform well when MacKinnon is out.

Rantanen’s production has been incredibly consistent and elite. He’s also the better goal scorer.

Pettersson has/had an argument when he was a 100 point, two way center. But he hasn’t been that in over a year, whereas Rantanen is currently #3 in NHL scoring.
