A career PPG player has never been broken. But if there was a fanbase that could do it , it would be Vancouver. Pettersons personality just doesn't work with the market. Whatever his problem is , the market is sure to make it worse. And Tocchet is already taking the media's side. And fuelling it himself.

Vegas is always game for a flashy move. Maybe they'd be interested in a Petterson Eichel swap. With maybe some tinkering on the margins. Kinda like the Havlat/Heatly deal.

Petterson is 25. Eichel is 28. Vegas woild win the trade just based on that.

No reason at all for Vegas to consider this. They’re in first place in the division. Only struggling teams trade their stars and I’m not sure I’d even call Vancouver a struggling team right now.

Plus Vegas can just wait until Mark Stone's back gets sore then use the LTIR to acquire EP.

Guy has been going through a nervous breakdown since last years all-star game break

Guy puts 60 points in 45 games before the break…...

The Something happens in his life, and he has been a 4th liner since. Maybe the contract

You’ve never seen such a drop in play happen in the blink of an eye.

Zero chance Vegas does this. Eichel is a proven winner as a 1C. Pettersson’s recent struggles and new contract have him in the not desirable category.

Eichel is pure drive, while Pettersson sulks. Eichel is the type of player that lifts everyone around him. Worth far more than just what's on the scoresheet.

If you think the return for a disaffected player is Eichel, you will be disappointed. You should be looking for another change of scenery player or a player who's contract negotiations aren't going well, not one of the league's leading scorers with a recent cup win.

Teams like Anaheim, Detroit, and Buffalo are probably where you want to look. Places with loads of young talent that aren't succeeding.

Vegas blocks Vancouvers number.

What a disrespectful proposal

Eichel is significantly better than Pettersson and is a playoff beast all over the ice. Vegas would only consider this if Eichel had just lost a limb.

Worse than Huberdeau?

It's about that bad.
Guys come back from all-star break and they all look disinterested becuase they were just in cancun. That maybe lasts 5 games. But this emotional meltdown has still lasted.

They have been talking about this on sportsnet, TSN and all radio. Guy scores 100+ points, is well on track to repeat 100 points again the next season, with 60 points in 45 games and looks great. Goes to the all-star break, and is a completely different person after he comes back.

Nobody can figure it out

Imagine floating a proposal for a guy with 3x as many points on the season
Last year , it was the opposite. And it's 8 games in.

It happened to Jack Eichel himself

I'm a fan of Ducks that are trying to get out of rebuild mode. You ask me which one of these players I'd take, it's Eichel 10/10 times and it's not even that close. Pettersson seems just like a kid that we have so many of.

It's a small sample size, but if this keeps up by the end of the year Petterson is in Huberdeau territory for sure.
