Great article by Mike Davies in the Examiner today (we are spoiled to have him writing about the Petes for so many years IMO).
He agrees that the fans have been so supportive and patient with the Petes over the last 2 seasons so the pressure is on Oke and Wilson.
They need to acquire higher end offensive players in trades as well as drafts to add to this core and then put it all together so that this team can score goals and win more 5-1, 6-2 games rather than hoping to squeak out 2-1 or 3-2 games.
To be fair, with such a young team Wilson didn’t have much choice but to play a passive, trapping game to keep games close and hope for some bounces on their few offensive chances to get the win.
Can the Petes be a team who has a top 10 PP, is a force on the forecheck and outshoots the opposition more often than not while still being hard to play against this season?
That’s my hope….we shall see!
