Let Bowen start in front of family and friends in Ottawa and give Rye the home games with the day off in between.
Absolutely Bowen has been good. He's been hung out to dry quite a lot, too. I just hope that they go with Rye for about 75 or 80% of the starts for the final month, and if they get into the last playoff spot, it should be a no brainer to get Rye the starts and experience for next season.
Did not expect this before the off-season, maybe they heard there were other teams looking to make a deal with him?

The "He had an opportunity to go back to Brunswick School this season" seems like they may have wanted to sign him but he had playing time lined up closer to home.
Unfortunately for Johnston, it leaves him in the same spot Rye was in last season, just without the mugging of a trade.
From the way the teams been playing a lot of games it certainly seems they're committing to pushing for the playoff spot. Bowen should fetch a decent price if he stays pretty consistent from here on out, which he hopefully should as the team is playing a lot better in front of him than the start of the season as well as just being more consistent himself.
I wouldn't get hopes up for a significant return on Bowen, he's got worse numbers than Sztuska last year and Sztuska went unclaimed on waivers. OA goalies just don't have a ton of value, and I think most teams that may be primed for a run next year have a goalie set. The 05 goalie group seems to be one of the weaker ones so I wouldn't be surprised if there's fewer OA goalies than usual.
That depends on the season. This year there was not a lot of demand for overage goaltenders. However next season might be different. It is not only contenders that are interested in an overage goaltender. A rebuilding team might also be interested in a one for stability in net.
