I don’t see how he’s here next year unless Novotny doesn’t report or the guy they draft next year doesn’t. Either way he needs to play to see if he can potentially be a player next year or not

Yeah we’re gonna have a top 10 import pick again this year so need to make that one count as well with another star
Exactly need Novotny to come over and they need whoever they pick next year to report as well
Yeah there's a real chance this makes the Petes D weaker. We'll see...

Except... He absolutely could be worse than Gowan, Ula, Ladds and he's older than them as well.
I don’t think Novotny is coming this year if he was they’d keep Maticjeck around since they’re both Czech. Now that Novotny isn’t coming at least until next season I would move Maticjeck for picks if a contender wanted him. Keep going back to Sudbury as a good fit on the left side after Deangelis they have 2 07 lefties if they’re buying then they need to upgrade that side and they have a open import spot plus Oke and Papineau seem to have a good relationship trade wise the last couple years

Regardless of the Country, you dont get to the World Juniors by not being good enough. Silly comment. This team needs some older players to take the load off the younger guys. It is a long season and your Petes 08's have probably played more ice time that 90% of the rest of rookies on other teams will play all year (minute wise). Besides you cant teach height and reach. You guys had a rough rookie years ago in Conner Smith. See how that turned out. For some of these kids, less is more in their development. One positive, Petes have a leg up on Guelph, Sarnia, Owen Sound and maybe NB (once rumours of deadline deals emerge) and all in full rebuilds. Too bad SSM game wasnt next weekend, as rumour top guys going.

Hey now, don't bring your rational logic here, this is a forum.
The teams last two import picks were the 7/8th D and 13th F on their WJC teams. Obviously, neither is leading their team but they're on them. That Czech team does look good though from the parts of their games I caught.
-2 in his first game in a new league and country while playing on a last place team. I say we better release him immediately!
Sucks not being in on any trade chatter lol. I would think the only guy that has a chance to get moved would be Bowen but they may just let Johnston play out the year in Stoufville and keep Bowen. Moving Addy would be high on my list if there was any takers
