We will be 0-9 after next weekend. Hope they consider some sort of change.
What can they even change? The coach is five games into an 8-year contract. The "change" will be an overage player moved out which will have minimal impact on the ice, aside from less of a chance of stealing one if it is in fact Sztuska dealt.

They could add a forward or two to give the team a chance but can't pay too much from the future when they're still two years away from serious contention.

Won’t be any change. The only change has to be the players playing better. Need to see some type of improvement from last year some guys haven’t even scored yet

Ya unfortunately there is not really any changes that can be made. They are locked into hoping some of these kids actually figure it out don't see it happening this year. Tired of seeing so much uninspired hockey. Taylor is basically unplayable right now. McCallum has cleaned it up but since then his effort has also seemed to drop significantly. Addy and young are usually complete non factors. Even someone like strohack just looks like he is coasting out there while we need him to make an impact physically. Only chance of a win this weekend is if one of the goalies win us a 2-1 or 1-0 game

This team is built around Addy, Taylor, Cameron and Young they are all the key building blocks the teams success will depend on how they develop

Mind boggling they’d have marentette playing forward and cadorin scratched. 2 themes I’m seeing last 2 years is taking too many penalties while also being near the bottom in powerplay goals. Powerplay hasn’t looked good through 5 games so far and wasn’t good at all last year
The power play has looked awful for years. Even when they were loaded with talent it didn't look great (I'd have to look into the numbers to be sure). They could certainly use a LOT of PP work.

I am starting to think they may keep him as their third overage. Who is out amongst the forwards if that happens, I don’t know? I don’t think it is Jonathan Melee though.
I would love for Sztutska to stay as he may steal a game or 2 for us this season but I still don't see a world where that happens. We have hardly any OHL caliber forwards on this team. We just cannot afford to trade any of them. Guys like Parish, Levac, Patridge, and I would argue even Faulkner do not belong on the ice and some of them are already getting line 2 ice time!! Sztutska is clearly better than Bowen but Bowen has been far from the problem in his starts he is a capable goalie. We do not have many capable forwards.

I am actually a big fan of Levac and Parish and that is a sentiment I have been hearing a lot of so far. They’ve already earned this ice time bump as the vets and 2nd year guys have been flat. I think there is a lot to like Levac especially as an ‘08. Levac and Parish over Faulkner and Partridge every day of the week

I'm definitely liking Parish so far. Haven't noticed Levac much, to be honest. Parish reminds me a bit of Page, especially early on in Page's tenure.

Okay, so even during the 2023 title run, the PP was 10.6%. So...they (coaches) clearly have no clue how to run a PP, even when they are winning.

What was the point of signing marentette and then playing him at forward lol
Both Jonathan Murphy and Shawn Spearing mostly played forward in their rookie seasons. They later became key components on defence to winning an OHL Championships each (1996 and 2003).

Murphy, really? I don't recall, but I know he was the definition of defensive defence man (and a darn good one). I think he scored 1 or 2 goals in 3 seasons? I have a hard time picturing him playing forward.

Bright side is definitely Cameron, Taylor and Fitzgerald scoring the three goals. They're undoubtedly the three most important players if this rebuild is going to happen

Also, Nathan Leek has 3G in 5G in the Q
Never looked like an OHL player to be honest. Though the complete lack of depth forwards on this year's team is a concern.

The 6-3 score won’t tell the whole story because there were some good moments for the young Petes, but some little mistakes burned them. As @HabsPetes119 mentioned there was some fight tonight and it was nice to see some pushback in a game that easily could have got out of hand much more. With this this team being so young they were always destined to struggle/lose this season, so now the emphasis needs to turn onto ensuring that this team is at least losing the right way, emphasizing details and prioritizing development at all costs. Turn the page to Owen Sound! Go Petes Go!

It was mostly in the second half of the season after they obtained Rick Morton and they had injuries at forward with Steve Webb and Rob Giffin out for the a season with injuries they moved him to right wing. He had two goals in three season but had 2 goals in the playoffs in 1996. I think they were both in overtime.

I think we may see them add a forward in the near future.

No they didn't. WTF are you talking about?
They actually did play forward Jonathan Murphy played right wing after the Petes traded for Mike Harding for Rick Morton and they had lost Steve Webb and Rob Giffin for the season to injuries. Shawn Spearing played left wing in the second half of the season in 2018-2019.
