Pete Rose knew what he was doing when he broke the cardinal rule of the sport, spent almost two decades lying about it, and then changed his tune for his own self-aggrandizement. He was a stain on the face of professional sports and a sorry excuse for a human being. No plaque for Rose, ever.Damn this was unexpected.
Now put him in Cooperstown.

The plaque is an honor, and Rose is not the sort of person we should be honoring.I dont condone what he did but he is one of the best players ever, he deserves to be in the hall.
There’s been very little indication that he truly was ever remorseful or understood his transgressions. Think HBO did a documentary that supports that.Pete Rose knew what he was doing when he broke the cardinal rule of the sport, spent almost two decades lying about it, and then changed his tune for his own self-aggrandizement. The man went to Cooperstown every induction week to sign memorabilia for money. Of course he wasn't remorseful - he was one of the most disgustingly arrogant and self-aggrandizing people in the history of the sport. There’s been very little indication that he truly was ever remorseful or understood his transgressions. I used to be of this mindset, then I read that both Ty Cobb and tris Speaker were suspended for a time due to gambling implications and conspiracy to throw a game. Both were re-instated and enshrined in the hall. I'm ok with Rose going in if there's proof that he didn't bet on the RedsCondolences to his family and fans, but he broke the one red line ban item (and then lied about it for decades) and was rightfully banned over it. Should be kept out of Cooperstown permanently.
I still remember watching this live
At least Pete made the WWE Hall of Fame.
Pete was lucky he was good at sports.. . One really great man passed away in the sporting world today and then there is Pete.

There are people with plaques we should not be honoring either, but we don't need to compound those errors by making another one.
Rose's accomplishments on the field are rightly recognized in the museum itself. But he should not receive the honor of the plaque.
