They didn’t call the game when Kane got his wrist torn open or when jiri Fischer and Jay bouwmeester went down. They won’t for this.

I’m against not it though. It was scary

I'm aware but they should have for those too.

This isn't a broken ankle, or a separated shoulder, hell this is not even a concussion, and let's make it VERY clear concussions are nothing to f*** around with.

This looks different

This looks scary

They did for JayBo. The shittiest part of it too, aside from the actual incident of course, was the very next day was the day the league shut down for Covid.

Another argument for making neck guards mandatory. "But it looks dumb" isn't a good enough reason not to NHLPA.

Good to hear he's stable.
Not sure if you’ve ever worn a neck guard before, but most of them are mesh designed solely to perfect from a cut from a blade. A blunt force won’t be stopped from a neck guard.

Pronger, Bouwmeester, and now Holloway. Glad they all turned out okay for the players, of course. I feel bad for the STL fans to have these pretty traumatic events happening during the course of a game.

Scary scene. It sounds like he is doing okay and breathing normally at the hospital. Wishing him the best.

Jumbo’s hit on Perron too.

Seemed definitely more trauma to the area related than anything cardiac which is a positive, hopefully it was just a passing moment of dizziness/weakness and he’s fine. Best thoughts to him and his family.

There’s nothing wrong with the idea of mandatory neck guards.

This maybe constricted an artery? It would explain the delayed reaction. Also, why wouldn't padding help with this? I get that blunt force trauma is different than a slice but some padding absorbing and spreading the force would be useful.
