He’s terrible in play offs

Shesterkin hasn't crapped the bed in the last two playoffs. If you're going to pay big dollars anyway you might as well get someone who can perform not just in the regular season.

Last two years in the post season:

.931 and .926 for Shesterkin, .886 and .864 for Hellebuyck.

nah

He sucks in the playoffs

Small sample sizes
Despite those 2 bad playoff years, he still has a career .910 playoff save percentage
Noticeably better than for example Bobrovsky, who happened to just win the Cup
Igor might be better in the playoffs (although note that Helle had similar stats after his first 4 playoff seasons like Igor has had) but I'm not sure about $3M+ better

When he doesn’t play fantastic the Rangers lose. They don’t have the club to win games unless he’s super. Rangers need this guy. 12.5 x 8. He wants to be a 100 million dollar player.

I will put it this way if Shesterkin was a free agent and wanted to come to Pittsburgh. I'm throwing a 12 to 12.5 x 7 offer at him.

The right move would have been trade for Hellebuyck instead of EK65 and given him the 8.5 million deal he ended up getting, but instead we got the Kyle Dubas special!

Save percentage means very little in playoffs. It’s all about being able to battle and get the w

I mean dubas is dumb but just because you want someone doesn’t mean you can have him

So instead of being a bottom 5 team you’ll be a playoff bubble team with a worse draft selection

Well we signed Crosby for 2 more years after this. Consistent goalies are hard to find I'd pounce on it.

Shesterkin + Blomqvist duo at 13.5 million.

Trade Ned to a team for a positive asset
Trade Jarry for a negative asset.

Trade Karlsson retained
Sign RD/LD defensively minded for money

Sure why not. Make moves.
