People who think Nathan Mackinnon is the best player in the world, can we all just be kind of agree that… he’s not?

In olympics next year we need to run these forwards:

Mcdavid, Mackinnon, Bedard, Celibrini, Crosby, Marner, Stone, Schiefele, Hagel, Point, Reinhart (maybe, I'd see if someone younger and more dynamic is a better fit as reinhart is a bad playoff/high level producer), Dylan Guenther

Extras: bennett and konecny

No space for guys like cirelli, marchand and jarvis

Defenseman

Makar, Theodore, Morrisey, Harley, Toews, Pietrangelo, and then Weegar and maybe Doughty as extras

no space for Sanheim (#3/4D), parayako (#3D) on the team

Goalies

Logan Thompson, Adin Hill

No space for Binnington

Toughness doesnt do shit when your players cant control play and produce.

This team Canada has low level talent and non dynamic players along with 2 D-man who arent good enough to play on Canada in any capacity at all.

Next year Im certain Bedard and Celibrini make it and they will be majorly impactful with both playing with talent level neither has ever seen in their hockey careers and never will see.

We may eke out a win this tourney depending on how things go. But next tourney send the below players off the team

Still a top 5-10 player in the game based on skill alone. I think we can all agree he doesn’t have the hockey IQ of some of the absolute greats of hockey but still enough hockey IQ and skill to be a HoF lock

...Sid's playing hurt, we all knew that...Marner is just Marner; complete trash when pressure is on...

When the game started and it was all out chaos I thought that right away both Marner and Matthews will be a non factor. Too rough for both of them.

Matthews made a nice back check which made Sportsnet wet themselves and they started talking Selke, so that's nice.

...you can't just have all elite-skill players either...there has to be a mix of players in every area & aspect of the game...look at this American team; loads of skill & grit...they play a Playoff-type game because they are built for it...guys like Hyman and Wilson needed to be here as well as guys like Sheifele...well-rounded is how Canada has always won...need to get back to that...

Bro hockey is truly a team game not easy in hockey for an individual to outright outshine everyone else every single game like freakin basketball

Mack is the most difficult player to contain IMO as he has a lethal shot and makes plays at high speeds same as McJesus

then you have Kucherov eating the NHL as a RW too

even if Mack is not deemed as the best players currently he is certainly in the top3 mix (include Drai in there too btw)

Not bad that he’s able to lead the league in points and assists with such a dumb hockey IQ then. His physical attributes must be worlds ahead of McDavid’s… Oh wait

I suppose your right but they are mistaken in my opinion.

McDavid is the best player, no real doubt in my mind about that one. MacKinnon has shown he’s a solid #2 the past few seasons though with Kucherov right there as well.
