Heathen.

If Dubas does anything at all to move this team towards competing next season and jarry is still the goalie, I will give him a wet Willy
I honestly don't give two shits about who the goalie is or the players, if Sullivan is still the coach, it really doesn't matter who the team has because it will be used like shit. That's been the issue. You can't push a team forward with a coach that preaches the same failed approach that has resulted in nothing promising for years now.

What I would like Dubas to do is maybe complete this next draft then step back into the other role and hire a GM, but not before firing Sullivan first so there isn't the whole bullshit of "we will let the new GM decide" and then he pulls the same FSG script out of his ass and states "I have the utmost respect for Mike Sullivan and feel he is the right man for the job" that we keep seeing.

Honestly, the new GM and new Coach would solve the other issues with the roster and usage, I would wait that out to see what the players look like when they're not used like idiots in a system meant for idiots like the coach to thrive in.

I would also fire Chiodo regardless of any of the above happening. Blom, Jarry, Ned, all have been absolute tire fires under his guidance, there's far too many issues under one bloke to not fire his ass immediately after the season ends. I'd promote Tisi or find a more veteran (and good) one out there that will help bring back the fundamentals for what works now for goalies and work within the physical strengths and weaknesses of the goalies this team currently has. Because the goalies in the AHL look fantastic, hell even Jarry looked better down there, then they come up and look like they can't track the f***ing puck to save their lives.

Dubas isn't giving up the GM title. If he does, it'll be in name only.

They left the GM spot open at the time in case they could pry someone away from Toronto like Brandon Pridham. To do so, they likely would have needed to offer a promotion, which is why Dubas didn't take the title at first.

Friedman reported on this at the time Dubas officially took on the GM title.

They may eventually move Spezza up to GM if they want to ensure they keep him, but it'll be just like Vancouver. Rutherford is still in charge and ultimately determining the direction of the clubs there, and Dubas will be doing it here no matter what happens underneath him in the front office.

Even the Rangers will figure their shit out faster and so will the others. The Pens will be bottom feeders with Sullivan and FSG. The dynamic duo of Turdness.
Not sure the Rangers will be that easy of a fix. They are a shit show of indifference. Devils crushed them in a what was pretty much a must win game for the Rags today. Mika is beyond lost, like f***ing terrible, Kreider will be 34 and looks it or worse. Very difficult to believe Fox eve won a Norris. JT doesn't seem to bring good juju. Igor ain't enough and it will be interesting to see his fortitude playing for a team that knows it sucks. Maybe Torts replaces Lavi for our viewing pleasure, but that's probably too much to ask for? Don't mind me, I'm in a weird place, having actually enjoyed several recent Pens games. Mostly I've hated watching this team this season.

They'll fire their coach, make some moves in the summer and still be on a better path than the Penguins.

McG is so aware off the puck. You see why a coach would like him right off the bat.

He cuts guys off for defensive stops in all 3 zones and regains possession for his line a lot. In spite of his footspeed issues.

The positive take is we won, but so did Boston, so did Buffalo, so did Seattle, et al. So not all is lost. That said, it is fricking annoying that we chose to ice close to a proper lineup once we were all but mathematically eliminated. Gee, thanks. These wins are useless, and to be honest these games with two rookies in the top-six forward group is also useless unless we back it up with giving them this type of opportunity when every team has zero points and we are actually in it to win games.

Who here is confident that this is the future? That you know who will not revert back to his set ways regarding lineup construction?

I am totally with Honour Over Glory on this one. The goaltending situation is a far distant second to the coaching situation. If they don't make a change behind the bench, then who cares what they do with Jarry? What they do with Graves. What they do with the first pick in the draft, and what they do with roster decisions, trades and free agency.

For me, the only thing that matters right now is the presser Dubas holds regarding the coaching situation. If he announces zero changes, then we can all expect ZERO CHANGES in this team's fortunes, short AND long term.

These last couple games imo are proof of concept that McGroarty’s skating isn’t going to be something he can’t overcome. The stint in the AHL definitely gave him the time he needed to learnt how to process the game at a pro level. He’s looking great out there.

Oh, look we didn't need to be slavishly devoted Rust and Rakell on L1 in order to play well. Who would have thunk it?

For a while it looked like DeSmith was going to do us a favor but DAL really wasn't feeling like defending this early in the day and were lucky to even be in the lead despite the Penguins handing out odd man rushes to help them out.

I am not obsessed with tanking but it's so annoying how the team plays so much better with no pressure even though it has a gazillion veterans and supposedly a great coach. Good thing a Chicago game is coming up so we can embarrass ourselves properly. Sure, the current Hawks are horrible but I believe that the boys can continue this proud tradition.
