I don't know if they're just being used a lot or if they're just noticeable, but I feel like Smith-Rutta has played the most of any D pair so far today.

I really, really, really, really like what I've seen from Smith. He looks terrific with the puck at the blueline and he's very aggressive offensively. He just had a really nice setup on Malkin there.

He did stink. Doesn't mean he has to stink here. There is talent there. It's up to the Pens to tap into it.

They've done it plenty of times before with Schultz, Niskanen, etc. Lots of guys that were maligned or not thought highly of before they came here and turned it around.
