Maybe one of these years the NHL will take a cue from the NFL. Start times are kick off times. Start times aren't when the national anthems get played and all the other nonsense and you get a 20 minute delay where casual viewers just decide to turn it to something else.

the source was a season ticket holder who showed up at the Q&A and posted on another Pens site…he or she wrote separate question and answer summaries for each question asked…sorry, can’t do better than that as no press were there

The quality of the players on the roster or their bad contracts is irrelevant, so long as the Pens get paid enough to do it.
Trying to win games isn't gonna be part of the equation for a long time.

My thought was trade EK to another team. Take on Seth Jones from Chicago for a little something.

Be a net positive in Assets but a net negative in actual play.

That'd be great. But there needs to be enough cap space after retaining Karlsson at 50%.
Trading Rakell while taking no cap back would work.

My point is that it's so depressing and devoid of any pleasure or entertainment to actually you know... watch. Buncha joyless bastards. I don't care about losing if there seems like there is a driving motivation behind it and you are actually developing some talent in between. This just feels like punishment to the eyes with little in the way of light at the end of the tunnel. Or at least any plan to get there.

I think Seth Jones is good enough to help us in a middle pairing role. He's 30 and his contract ends at 35 (I'm pretty sure on ages may be one year off)
Id like to think we could find a role for him.

Also yes every asset matters we are retooling / rebuilding. Karlsson wants out and he is worth assets. It sucks we are at this stage but we we are at this stage of the teams life cycle.
