Opponents are looking at the Pens as the ''easy'' team on the schedule. So any more easy teams on the schedule for the Pens to look good and keep Sully around?

Yeah we won 7-0. Jarry shutout and Pus with 5 goals.Did I miss anything? I wasn't able to watch the game.
And defenseThis forward group blows.
What did the owners do?And defense
And goal
And coach
And owners
And GM
I rather fire the coach and see what happens before I start rebuilding. But if we aint firing the coach, just rebuild.Someone said in the game thread that on paper the Pens aren't really a bad team.
Yes, they are. Or at least not a good team.
Neither are the Steelers.
The complaints about the coaching of both teams have merit. But in the end, it is irrelevant. Because both teams simply don't have the talent.
The smart move would have been to start a rebuild. For both the Pens and Steelers.
Everyone here knew that going into the season. So your sanity will remain if you simply accept what deep down you knew.
The owners that gave a coach who hasn’t won anything in years an extension 2 years early? What did the owners do?
Dubas has been fine.
Lack of depth or coach usage? Dubas revamped the bottom 6 as best he could. Sully continues to sully however. The owners that gave a coach who hasn’t won anything in years an extension 2 years early?
Dubas has built a team with 0 depth every year of his professional career.
I'd fire the coach first and see if it helps. No reason not to.Someone said in the game thread that on paper the Pens aren't really a bad team.

We had exactly 6 top six capable players in the entire organization going into the season. You cannot win with 0 offensive ability in your bottom 6.Lack of depth or coach usage? Dubas revamped the bottom 6 as best he could. Sully continues to sully however.
I can’t think of better coaches to lead a tank though. If you want high picks, they’re the men for the very poorly done job.Any rebuild talk before Sullivan/Reirden remains nonsense.

That said, if the Pens do opt to rebuild...how do you even do that? They have no tradeable contracts, and unless Crosby/Letang/Malkin want out, those three might be good enough to keep them relevant enough to not get top picks.
Jake is the only prime trade piece they have, but I'm not sure he'd bring the haul back that everyone wants. But if they're gonna rebuild, they might as well start with him.
Even if you give dubas the benefit of the doubt regarding team composition and doing the best he could...Lack of depth or coach usage? Dubas revamped the bottom 6 as best he could. Sully continues to sully however.
Reebuild isnt happening until the core retires. New ownership didnt spend 100s of millions to just blow this up. Sid and Co will be allowed to ride into the sunset and then the scorched earth approach will happen. This the way.Any rebuild talk before Sullivan/Reirden remains nonsense.
There should have when a rebuild two summers ago. Now it's just crash and burn time.Someone said in the game thread that on paper the Pens aren't really a bad team.

They could easily be a playoff team with a change behind the bench/tweaks. A Cup was always going to be a hail mary once Sid and Geno hit their mid 30's, but they're not trading them, so you might as well try. They are rebuilding.
Soon.
The only question is when. Now? This off-season? Next? They certainly aren't a legit cup contender and there is no trade or new coach that will make them one.
The only thing that they can control is when the rebuild starts. The longer that they wait, the longer until they are legitimately good again.
