Ok I can understand why Nylander, Brown and Kapanen are in the AHL. But, why not call up some of Leivo, Soshnikov, Percy and Loov?

Auston Matthews got screwed. He's definitely playing in the NHL next year, he was supposed to be in the 2015 draft, missed the deadline by 2 days.

He would have probably went second after McDavid too, instead - he has to waste a whole year because for some reason September 15 is the deadline.

We got lucky. He would have went 3rd overall because of Eichel hype (though I think he looked much better compared to Eichel in the WJC).

McDavid, Eichel, Matthews...1,2,3 and there is one less talent to pick from in the 2016 draft.

I know the forwards arent very talented, but babcock should be able to get more out of them.

Will be very interesting how this progresses through the season

Gorging myself on candy, I noticed portion sizes have been decreasing every year. This is an outrage. Should we just accept this atrocity? What are we, Leafs season ticket holders? I demand quality for my purchases

If we lose today, we still have to lose 2 more games in hand on them. Essentially, we have to lose 8 in a row in regulation just to keep up with them...

Yes. Have you seen this team?

Losing 2 more games is almost guaranteed.

Lou already said there are 5-6 players in the AHL that are going to be in the NHL very soon. I think we'll be seeing some of the kids as soon as the trade deadline.

I can't see how the Leafs just let Nylander stay in the AHL the whole year even if the Leafs suck.

If the Marlies are heading for a Calder though, maybe? because he 'd be the main cog right?

our powerplay doesn't look so hot.

Funny thing is that his high danger and Medium danger sv% was well above average coming into tonight. .861 and .969 respectively, good for 11th and 5th. It's low danger where he's getting shredded, at .891 in this young season, and he hasn't posted below .960 in each of his two years as a leaf in low danger sv%.

Interesting. It's weird that every time I see a 2 on 1 against the Leafs I want them to play the shooter rather than the passer because it's almost a guaranteed goal against vs Bernier, or so it seems

Who would be on a bottom 5 team, sorry the worst team in the league?

And that has nothing to do with him more than the crappy plays you've seen thus far today.

We haven't been a good team, but Bernier has been a good goalie considering what he's had to deal with.

How about those backups that played for Buffalo last year?

hey harry, what's up! :)

I don't think I like this Marincin person.

Hi Daisy! Me either

The media needs to grill Babcock....his results are absolute ****.

Lol what? What did you expect from Babcock? To turn rancid turds into gold? You can't mae chicken salad out of chicken ****.

He's a coach, a very good one, but a coach. He's not Jesus Chrst himself, sent down to deliver unto us wins by his own sheer will.

Frederik Andersen (2.05 GAA and .932 sv %) for one.

To be fair, if Anaheim would score more than one goal a game, they wouldn't be in the basement. Defense has not been an issue for them; it's offense. They are 14th in the NHL in GAA, and a big part of the reason they are so low is because Khudobin sucks.

Great play there Parenteau, skate straight into the defender and lose the puck.

What would the Leafs GAA be with a .930 save%?

This PP tries to do too much for so little talent. Get a screen and just keep shooting the puck.

I answered the question. It's possible for a bad team, no matter how good they should be, to have a quality goaltender.

We don't have that. It's just that simple.
