Oh, absolutely small size. But in terms of style of what you're looking for out of a bottom six player, his little run is closer to what I personally think would work.Dewar had a decent season with Minnesota, but let's not pretend that this is anything beyond a flash in a pan.
So does Nedeljkovic!Dewar has more goals with the Pens than Nieto in his entire tenure here

Whether it's him or someone like Poulin or someone else, that's what you should want over the course of 82 games - forecheck, disruptive, and then get enough goals to not be a black hole of suck.
Absolutely. I liked Dewar in Minnesota. Did not follow him much in Toronto but Dewar and Duhaime were a nice duo in Minny, and it seems he and Lizotte are doing similar things in Pit. Obviously, we should have dealt Acciari at the deadline but we did not for whatever reason. I would like to see someone else playing with Dewar and Lizotte next season as the FOURTH line, not the current third line. I think both Hallander and A. Hayes have the skill set to play that role with those two guys. And hey, maybe even add a modicum of additional offense to the group.Oh, absolutely small size. Anyway, we can't be too upset that the plans for the first round seem to be altering when the winning streak is largely because of the infusion of new players, the subtraction of players who were overdue to leave and the renaissance of the goaltender who has limited to no trade value.
This Eastern Conference is so wide open right now, we might as well take a run at it. Meanwhile, keep losing NYR! Let's go Blue Jackets tonight!
The fact that Kolyachonok is playing with Letang and they don't suck together; the fact Graves is back in the lineup and he and Timmins do not suck together; the fact that Dewar and Heinen are contributing...all of those things are positives moving forward.
I personally would like to see us use those four call-ups before the end of the regular season on some prospects, but otherwise no complaints. Other than the obvious question: where in the blue hell was this type of performance earlier this season? Why must we always spot teams X number of points every year, sink to the nether regions of the overall standings prior to the deadline, dump players and then go on a streak that will end in us missing out only because of how piss-poor the start was?
It's annoying.
Maybe... just maybe the coach is the issue? This team is so bipolar.....
Don’t be raining on the parade!6 pts after tonight's CLB / NYR game (70 pts each).
I don't doubt. He is never going to look good under this coach playing this style, that much is obvious. And he would not be playing over the journeyman Shea if the latter were not injured.Graves sucked total ass today lol.
That's ok. There really aren't any sure fire generational players from what I see currently. The Pens have allot of chances at hitting with their vast numbers of picks. They just to need to draft players with at least one dominant characteristic (Speed, Shot, Physicality/Size, Playmaking). It's really not rocket surgery. As it is written.
Mid-round pick here we come.
Well, first of all, it is Draisaitl who plays on McDavid's wing when the coach puts them together, but they usually start every game on different lines. If this team somehow makes the playoffs, give Sid the Hart. Far more deserving than Draisaitl putting up 8 billion points with McDavid on his wing
Agreed.Well, first of all, it is Draisaitl who plays on McDavid's wing when the coach puts them together, but they usually start every game on different lines.
Secondly, Draisaitl should be the runaway winner for the Hart this season. I don't see anyone close.
If we win 13 more in a row we'll tie an NHL record for 17 consecutive wins which the '93 penguins set.. I don't see that happening.Let's not overcomplicate this. A realistic bar is like 90 points.
88 if they're very lucky. 92 if they're not.
Their max is 92 atm.
Gotta give Kyle credit, his pick ups like Tomasino, Timmins and Dewar look pretty good for a 4th and 5th rounder. Not that I want them to win at this point, but he extracted pretty good value there. Also, Tomasino has SIX GWG's out of his 10 on the season. This is the problem with Sullivan in a nutshell: he’s trying to make every player into an all around two-way threat, which would be nice, but most players already have strengths and weaknesses by the time they get to the NHL …he insists on them doing things in a different way though, so he’s not playing them to their strengths and he gets them thinking too much…not everyone is going to be Patrice Bergeron lol…play them to their damn strengths…
Here’s Sullivan at the presser when asked about Tomasino: he praises his offensive instincts and finishing ability, particularly off the rush, but then says, “but where the coaching staff is trying to challenge Phil is to develop a grind game.” Just stop lol…why can’t he just be happy he scores and play him with other players who can do the grinding? The line can be balanced, but not every player is going to overcome his warts…just fire the coach already! I fear him getting his hands on all of our prospects in Wilkes lol
Although Dewar did score the same amount of goals today as Nieto has in his entire 55 game tenure with the Pens, so there's that.He looks exactly like Matt Nieto out there.
