I thought the time off was supposed to help him heal up a little. I swear it didn’t allow ANYONE to heal up. Not Manson, not Drouin, even Nuke took two more games to come back.

It seemed like they weirdly got worse. Not only those three, but we heard following the break that guys like Girard and O'Connor were hurt. Howwwwwww does that happen?

Yah Drouin has something that aint going to heal. Probably needs surgery but that will end his season. No idea what type of injury that could be. If the Avs could afford to do it they should load manage his ass.

Yeah I thought he had a pretty good outing. He's a hell of a skater but you can also tell why he probably gets injured so often. The guy looks for the body every chance he gets. I love that shit.

Yep I think him not being asked to play top pairing will help him. He was perfectly fine for a 2nd pairing guy. Ate mins, nothing bad, did his job.

I notice him early losing his man and turning the puck over in the first behind his net but other than that I thought he was fine. When Manson gets back I would put him and Lindgren on PK2 if not PK1 to lessen the load a bit on Makar and Toews. Putting Makar and Toews on PK2 also means they face less talent so that could also be good. One things for sure I dont want Girard on the PK when Manson is healthy.

Talent only going to get them so far. If they played a really good team tonight they would have lost this in the second period. Fortunately, they played a really bad Pens team.

Interestingly, for the only PP, Bednar gave both sets of forwards a minute each.

Started with Lehkonen, Necas and Drouin, then they shifted off and Colton, Nuke and Mitts came on. Makar and MacKinnon stayed on.

I honestly can’t really remember the last time the « 2nd unit » got on with more than 20-30 seconds of PP time left.

At least late in the game he shoved a guy into the boards (almost looked like he punched him) behind the net and got the puck up and outta there. So that was nice.
