Should've dealt Rust at the TDL last season, should've let everyone walk this summer, and let Sid decide if he wanted to go down with the ship or chase a Cup elsewhere.

Well, the team should've f***ing nuked the FO and coaching staff in 2020, but Mario and his pedophile-adjacent bud were just as MIA and dumb as FSG's been.
Then we wouldnt have sid set him up for a golden high danger chance only for him to toe drag and bobble the puck and turn it over around 4 minutes remaining in the third.

Well, it's been a great 16 year run, but tonight brought the curtain down on that. Isles won't lose to the Habs, but this crap team doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs regardless. For a franchise that's had some truly shameful moments in its history, this ranks up there with some of the worst. We can try to single out individuals, but it should be painfully obvious that every single man that took the ice tonight should hang their heads.

Wonder if Anyone will call out Sid, Geno & Letang & others Bob Pompeani just did !! that is a start, But not going to hold my breath. It will be Sullivan Sullivan Sullivan & Hextall Hextall Hextall !! would like to that that Democrat Political Hack David Morehouse for thumbs down on the trade of Letang to wake these guys up back an eternity now
Letang has always been superfluous (see Hainsey, R., 2017), but not sure what more you want out of Crosby and Malkin at the end of the season after Sullivan relies on them 20+ minutes a night all year long.

How do you NOT fire Hextall AND Sullivan after tonight?

Hextall botched the bottom 6 twice. Once in the offseason and again at the deadline.

As bad as the roster may be, you have a home game against the worst team in the league in a must win scenario and you score ZERO 5-on-5 goals (outside of garbage time) with essentially a healthy roster. The roster is not good enough, but it's good enough to win that f***ing game.

Or they are content on just playing out the fiddle with a GM who they believe can “rebuild”.

Whatever. Nothing will change.
The most awful outcome would be nothing changing either in GM or at coach so yeah sure what the hell that'll happen. That's how it has gone since the cups.

At least we got those cup dvds for the next two decades before we're relevant again.

It is indeed a joke that only Hextall will get fired for this.

What does the next GM even do anyways? Like I think Hextall has been largely awful, but this free agent crop sucks, we have no prospects, we have deadweight (Rust/Granlund/Carter being the most notable) and the next GM will probably be stuck with Sullivan.
Fire Sullivan.

Very true, so it's going to take a really creative GM, because this ship is taking on water fast. And that GM is not named Ron Hextall OR Brian Burke
