Boston traded Marchand, which resonates a little differently in the locker room. Not even trading Rakell would have been the same for the Pens.

But at least it shows they're trying a different direction. And if you move your best wing out, you're likely not as able to score. That might have made a big difference here. And in the process got some nice assets for the future.

Glad to see Sid and Geno get a few points, but the context of this game makes the team so unlikable. They look like butt and lose all season, and then try super hard and win when it's in their best interest to just keep losing. There's nothing to look forward to or be excited about. He is objectively better than both Graves and Shea, and the meaningless games toward the end of this season are exactly the type of minutes he should be eating to get adjusted to Sullivan's "system."

But his play is hurting us and equally as important it won't help him get a nice piece to play with. At least in theory. It'll likely be a guy that's 2-3 years away. As opposed to a higher quality player maybe a year away.

This is squarely on Dubas. I like a lot of his moves, but not how he's handled the last few weeks regarding his call ups. It gave this team life and they were headed for an epic tank.

This is the exact opposite of what should have occurred. I simply don't understand willfully and gleefully staying in mediocrity.
