Yeah. I think this organization's rotten Sullivan's brain. He lucked into being in the right place at the right time for the back to backs. He inherited a roster full of HHOF players with a massive chip on their shoulder and just getting out from under the stupid, stifling style of Johnston was enough to give them a huge adrenaline boost.
After it became time to put his mark on the franchise and steer the ship for real, he settled into the same bullshit routine most NHL coaches do. The issue is that this team's heaped nothing but immeasurable positive reinforcement on him, regardless of results, for like a decade. I still cannot understand how or why he's so beloved, across multiple ownership groups, FOs, etc.
