I can’t even look forward to cheering for USA in International play because this moron is going to assemble a bunch of jabronis and they’ll lose to Japan.

Mike Sullivan is killing my love of hockey.

What was once old will become new, again. It would be hilarious to watch Sullivan follow in his imbecile predecessor's footsteps.

I mean you KNOW Rust is gonna be on that team. I would joke about Ruh but you never know with Sullivan even with him being basically out of the league.

EDIT: Also you joke re: the bolded (maybe?) but honestly he kinda is for me, at least. I don't really give a single solitary shit about any other team in the league. I don't watch other teams play hockey for fun barring the playoffs here and there if there is a fun series going on. So it's basically Penguins or nothing for me. So as you can surmise the last like 5+ years has been utter hell. Not even as far as wins/losses go but the sheer dullness of the product combined with the ungodly stupidity and arrogance displayed by those that actually run the team.

Brian Dumoulin will be playing the role of washed Brooks Orpik.

Seriously why not just play Pool party instead of putting Hayes at RW? Is it that important that Hayes plays?

It's incredible to me that Hayes has somehow played 15 games.

I swear I've only noticed him out there like four or five times all year.

There were games that I thought he was still out of the lineup with injury but had already taken like five or six shifts out there.

I feel like the "Mike Sullivan hates European players" theory will be proven true if he gives Tomasino a long leash in the top-6 after he didn't give Bemstrom a single chance in the top-6 last year

I was never the best skater in high school but I’m pretty sure I could have still out skated the current version of Hayes.

Pretty soon players will need to push him down the ice.

No joke. Like I said, I cannot even look forward to international hockey because I know he’s going to sink the US team like a kamikaze pilot at Pearl Harbor.

We all know the time for the team to suck was coming. It’s inevitable. I am perfectly fine with that. The 3 Cups this era won was more than I could have asked for and I’ll die a satisfied fan if they never win another game.

That being said, sucking when you’re just bad and don’t have talent is perfectly acceptable. Icing a product as wretched as this team due to the incompetence and negligence of a coach well past his expiration date and a jackass GM who can talk himself into anything…except a winning hockey team, is just disheartening.

I would much rather watch the entire WBS roster get caved up here while playing as the scrappy underdog than what is currently happening.

McGroaty makes sense as a centerpiece. He’s an unproven asset like Jiricek.

Blomqvist has shown success at the NHL level. He would be our starting goaltender if it wasn’t for incompetence by the FO.

Rossi said on Seravalli's show that they offered any prospect to Columbus for Jiricek and they basically said "meh". He also said that the Penguins 2nd round pick is more valuable than McGroarty, so yeah, I don't know that we should be taking his insight seriously

Jiricek is a really good talent and most certainly he will help whatever team gets him eventually but is he truly a need here? I feel like anything we give up, we instantly have that hole to fill. If you give up McGroarty, you are instantly looking for a young, top line wing/forward. I would interested in Pickering+ but I doubt CBJ are. I wouldn't give up the 1st this year either.

In my eyes, I would really only support a trade that's likely McGroarty+ IF:
1. Taking him means we've captured a top dman trade target and we think that will up the value of Pettersson.
2. Being that he's a RHD, we start making a legitimate plan to move Karlsson in which we look for a forward prospect in return.
3. We keep the 1st this year and next and we commit to best forward available, with one having to be a center. Which also means there is a commitment to the gutter next year as well. Which ALSO means we look to send out a few more players.

McGroarty+Ponomarov+2024 3rd for Jiricek
Pettersson@50% + DOC to VAN for Petterson, Hoglander
Acciari out for a 4th
Beauvillier out for a 4th
Karlsson@50% to OTT for Zub+2024 3rd
Zub to Edmonton for Lavoie+2025 2nd
Use 2024 1st on Misa
Use 2025 1st on McKenna

I'm not a fan of giving up McGroarty in a package for Jiricek for the same reason I wasn't a fan of giving up Yager to get McGroarty. We need every "top prospect" we can get because the cupboard is so bare. We can't be giving up one to land another.

Granted, I get the double edged sword is you have to give up quality to get it. And because of our lack of prospect cupboard we don't have much (if any) quality. But it's just the principle of the situation. Giving up one good prospect to land another doesn't really move us forward.
