He’s been treated like shit in CBJ and he continues to be so under a new group.

He’s waiver exempt next year and will likely force his way out so might as well get him resolved now.

Columbus makes out like bandits in that kind of deal. That's what I'd do if I was Donny Wads. Jackets can retain 50% on Petts' final season and likely get back a young D in addition to Pickering and they move Jiricek and a 3rd to add a second, Pickering, likely another pick and a top prospect and cap dump in Hoglander.

I think Donny Wads at best would allow Dubas to send him an offer only to use it to raise Vancouver's offer. The only reason.
