They absolutely have a choice. They can run a different system, they can get a different coach AND a different system, or they can even blow up the roster and rebuild. This shit (what we're doing) is just stupid.
Even with a different coach and system, you still need enough defensively responsible players to make the playoffs.
Do we have enough right now? No, not in imo anyway.
If our core 3 D-men all step up at the same time then sure, maybe you have the freedom to use more offensive personnel. It just doesn't feel like that's coming, especially not under Quinn.

What is this playoffs nonsense? We're not making the playoffs with or without Lizotte, it's a false equivalency.

When your team can only win against bottom-feeders (and even then just barely), it's time to think about a wholescale reworking of the team.

Lizotte (and to a lesser degree P-party) are role players on playoff bound teams, not us. And either way, icing them 5 minutes a night is basically a waste of a roster space.

Yeah that was a bit surprising since Mike Sullivan averaged like 12 min a game I think during his career.

I don’t think Sullivan is like against European born players, but as you said there is a clear bias to the skill set.

Frankie Corrado was talking about playing for Sullivan on the Athletic Podcast and basically confirmed he doesn’t trust young players and players have to “earn their minutes” with him through safe, responsible play.
We all witnessed safe and responsible playing last 7 years, culminating in with this years safe and responsible playing playing, imagine if he dresses unsafe and responsible ones how bad it was, Sully is really holding the fort

It would be one thing if he applied that safe, responsible standard to everyone, but lol. He don't.
Right? This team's had like a dozen absolutely abysmal vets over Sully's tenure that never get held accountable and just keep getting minutes in all situations.

Goofy coach. Goofy organization.

Yeah he's a UFA after the year, he turns 27 on June 9th next year. Barely UFA status.

This team is also old as shit, so even the guys who seem "young" aren't actually young.
Yeah, it's wild how easy it is to just keep assuming some of these guys are young up-and-comers when they've been around for a long time. That's also why I thought it was weird people wanted to keep DOC because he's "young"

That's what's so hilarious about this situation. It would be one thing if we were the DPE Devils playing "boring hockey" but winning. But we're essentially as exciting as those Devils teams but always on the losing end of things (except when we eek out a close win against the worst teams).

If you're going to suck anyways, at least be enjoyable to watch. Don't lose AND be a complete chore to watch for 2 and a half hours.

The problem with that is that this is coming from Frankie Corrado, a career tweener whose NHL career highlight is being traded for Eric Fehr in a cap dump move.

If this comes from someone like Brian Dumoulin, then it would hold more water.

Okay. Pascal Dupuis did it in 2018. Is that enough for you?

He's the exact type of fringe NHLer that knows what it'd be like to be marginalized by Sullivan.
