Something to keep an eye on over the next few weeks. And this is without Will Butcher, who will be waived and sent down to join WBS once he is healthy.
Wait. They aren't even playing him I'm the top 6?Calling up Poulin to play him on the 4th line would be an incredibly dumb move.
I'm already irritated that they're not playing Poulin in a top-6 role in the AHL, and calling him up just to play him on the 4th line is probably the only move they can make that I'd dislike more.

I think he was at 3C for a game or two then 2LW iirc.Wait. They aren't even playing him I'm the top 6?
He was the 3C until Nylander got hurt, and then he slid to the 2LW spot after Nylander got hurt.

Nylander isn't hurt. He was out for a personal matter.
"Professional games" include the NHL, AHL, and "elite European leagues," unless the player played in the European league while junior-aged. European leagues that count towards veteran status in the AHL are the top leagues in the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland

They better be show casing the vets for trade. Makes 0 sense for Poulin to not be a top 6 C.
0 sense.
I don't even see any of those vets that would be trade candidates, tbh. My guess is that Zohorna eventually comes up to the NHL and Poulin slides into the top-6 as a center. They'll have 7 veterans at that point (White, Hinostroza, Fedun, Ouellet, Butcher, Johnsson and Nylander) and they'll probably just run with 2 of Fedun, Ouellet and Butcher in the lineup.
I'd guess they'll have something like:
Pitlick-White-Hinostroza
Nylander-Poulin-Puustinen
Johnsson-Koppanen-Hayes
Ruechhoff-Gruden-Johnstone
Smith-Fedun
Hajek-Ouellet
Rathbone-St. Ivany
Samukorov-Butcher
Where they may just rotate D pairs into the lineup, where maybe Hajek-Ouellet swaps out for Samukorov-Butcher or something like that. They can run with 3 veteran D in games where one of Johnsson, Nylander, Hinostroza or White are out as well.
I'm sure it's just some dumbshit like easing Poulin back into things after a missed year. They should just put him in a 1C/1LW role and give him huge minutes, imo.
Why would the Coyotes remotely entertain this?
They're a bottom feeder looking to rebuild, and you're talking about trading them a 29 year old impending UFA for a 19 year old lotto pick who already looks like the steal of the draft.
Nothing about that lines up. Might as well propose Rust for Bedard.
I for one applaud Dubas' McDonalds Monopoly approach to acquiring young talent.Rathbone. Interesting. He was allegeldy the return we'd get for Marino if he went to Vancouver.
Yeah, I honestly can't believe what I'm reading with some of these Carter posts. I know this place is usually a pit of despair and I don't want to add to that but he's terrible and is borderline useless out there. Legs are completely gone. I will say that the move to wing has lessened his responsibilities, so thats a good thing.I despise Kan Dingerski, but count him among the many who see Carter as the weakest link in already piss poor line…lol

Kingerski: Penguins Not Playing Their Best 12; One Move Can Change Several Things
After a demolition derby-type preseason and training camp during which no fewer than seven or eight players fought for a few spots on the Pittsburgh Penguins’ roster, none of the original combatants made the cut. After calling a draw with no winners, the Penguins claimed defenseman John Ludvig...pittsburghhockeynow.com
I would like to see Ludvig and Hinostroza replace Ruh and Carter for a game soon for sure.Yeah, I honestly can't believe what I'm reading with some of these Carter posts. I know its only been 3 games but my one complaint with Dubas so far is that they've preached competition, yet only have 12F on the roster. When is soon to be 39 year old Jeff Carter getting his AARP mandated rest day? This one is more directed at Sully but what about letting one of Shea or Ludvig try and play on their off side and let Ruh take a seat?
Just looking at our schedule, we don't play another B2B until about a month from now (3 games in 4 days Nov 16-19). An injury will almost assuredly happen before then so I guess it's not worth getting worked up over while we're winning.
Micah is not high on the Pens lol
Tied for 8th…depending on tiebreakers could be 9th, and also could be 10th if Ottawa picks up .1 o a point..not real great8th in the East, seems normal to me
And yet only eight points out of 1stTied for 8th…depending on tiebreakers could be 9th, and also could be 10th if Ottawa picks up .1 o a point..not real great
"Past fortnight"? The season is only a week old.
